**Inclusion Bites Podcast** **Episode 126: Reframing Our World** **Host: Joanne Lockwood (Jo)** **Guest: Lina Jankauskeite** --- **Joanne Lockwood:** Welcome to another episode of Inclusion Bites. I'm Joanne Lockwood, and today I have the pleasure of chatting with Lina Jankauskeite. Lina is a psychologist, holistic life coach, and speaker. Welcome, Lina! **Lina Jankauskeite:** Thank you, Jo. It's great to be here. **Joanne Lockwood:** Today, we're diving into the concept of reframing our perspectives. Lina, can you explain what it means to view people's actions through a positive lens? **Lina Jankauskeite:** Absolutely. Often, we interpret others' actions negatively, assuming they're intentionally hurting us. But typically, people don't mean to cause harm. By reframing situations positively, we can reduce our frustration and react more constructively. **Joanne Lockwood:** That's a valuable insight. How do you handle challenging situations to maintain this positive outlook? **Lina Jankauskeite:** It involves self-awareness and resilience. Instead of seeing ourselves as victims, we can take personal responsibility and learn from our experiences. This shift in mentality allows for personal growth and better leadership. **Joanne Lockwood:** Personal responsibility is indeed crucial. I learned this from an entrepreneur course, which helped me understand the importance of being accountable for my decisions and turning mistakes into learning opportunities. **Lina Jankauskeite:** Yes, acknowledging our mistakes humbly can lead to significant growth. We must move past defensiveness to truly lead ourselves and inspire others. **Joanne Lockwood:** It’s true. Surrounding oneself with talented people and empowering them also enhances leadership. How do you approach maintaining effective relationships and avoiding toxicity? **Lina Jankauskeite:** Setting boundaries is key. Recognising when a relationship or situation is detrimental and having the courage to step away is critical. It’s essential to achieve closure before moving on to avoid carrying emotional baggage. **Joanne Lockwood:** Wise advice. Reflecting on our past behaviour and practising vulnerability can deepen our connections with others. **Lina Jankauskeite:** Definitely. Embracing humility and collaboration over competition enables us to grow personally and professionally, rather than trying to be right all the time. **Joanne Lockwood:** I agree. Before we wrap up, could you share how listeners can get in touch with you? **Lina Jankauskeite:** Sure, they can find me on LinkedIn or email me at redefineandrewire.co.uk. **Joanne Lockwood:** Fantastic. Thank you for joining us, Lina. And to our listeners, don’t forget to subscribe to Inclusion Bites and join us on this journey towards real change.
