Phil, I'm excited to be here, man. And I gotta tell you, I've been on lots and lots and lots of shows, and I don't know if this is, like, updated copy that our team sent or if you did some deep dive or if you had some chat GBT wizardry and magic. But, or if you're just, like, a really good channeler. But I have to tell you that, like, that was one of the coolest intro that I've heard, and I just appreciated, like, the level and depth at which you weave things in. And so, it makes me sound really, really freaking cool. And, hopefully, I live up to the standard, but but, man, I'm I'm excited to be here with you today.

00:02:08 - 00:02:21
You you are that cool. Period. End of discussion. I decided. You're on the show. That means you're cool, and you're awesome, and you're gonna deliver the value. It's a little bit of magic and my own little, you know, beautiful voice added into there.
Brian Bogert
00:02:21 - 00:02:34
Yeah. No. I can tell the little weave there, bro. I've, like, reached this level of AI mastery that's been really fun, but I could just, like as you were reading, I was like, okay. I see Phil. I see it. He's he's a player. He's trying to he's trying to level shit up everywhere he goes.
Phil Better
00:02:34 - 00:02:59
Yeah. I I I look at myself, and I've said this a few times on the episode. You're I I used to listen to hip. I still listen to hip hop, but I'm old school nineties hip hop where you have the hype man. Right? But you have the hype man who's just hyping up the crowd, and then you have the rap star coming out. I never thought I could be the rap star. I'm like, I will be the hype man. So my goal is to hype you up as the main star because you're the rap star of the show, Brian.

But we're gonna jump straight into the first question I always ask because enough, you you know, chitchat. Why why why did you decide to jump into the coaching consulting world? Askew the nine to five to be a a digital entrepreneur.
Brian Bogert
00:03:13 - 00:04:15
Yeah. So, you know, there's a couple of transitions because I was an entrepreneur long before I was doing this full time, but I was in a brick and mortar type sense in the risk management employment with consulting world, and it was after I had been an employee in a similar industry. And, you know, I think I learned really, really early probably from the time I was born that, like, I hate to be told what to do. There's such a visceral reaction at, like, every cell in my body that, like, even in my marriage when I first joined, like, it would literally be like, I would I would say to my wife, like, could you just ask me what to do? Like like it like, you don't need to tell me. Like, if you tell me, then every part of me wants to shut off and say no. And so as a result of that, like, I'm not a very good employee. I'm a very high performer, but I'm not a very good employee because I just really don't like to be told what to do by anybody. And I've never been someone to kiss a ring for the purpose of kissing a ring, which is what a lot of what I find corporate traditional type jobs to some degree or especially in the high performing sales or entrepreneurial markets.
Brian Bogert
00:04:15 - 00:04:49
There's some ego there. Right? And that just was never my game. It's like, cool. I can have mad respect for someone, but that doesn't mean that just because you're twenty years older than me, that you're smarter than me, better than me, faster than me, more emotionally connected than me. And, oh, by the way, that's not even about a comparison with me and them. It's just, who the fuck are you to tell me what to do? Right? That's literally what it what it would come down to. And so, you know, after my adventure after a couple of jobs that were more entrepreneurial in in, in both high school teenage years in college, and then my very first job, I just knew. And so I I went down this path of becoming an entrepreneur because I believed that it could give me a lot more freedom.
