Do me a favor. Look at the person you're sitting next to, look him in the eye. Tell them, after last night's event, you look marvelous, simply marvelous. Somebody said, I look marvelous, and I feel marvelous. Storytelling is the soul's medicine. And right now the world needs your story, your excellence, your brilliance. Because when you show up to solve a problem, or what Marie Forleo calls figureoutability, people tap into your lived experience. So storytelling is.

Is the soul's medicine. I discovered this in probably most interesting way. I got a call from Mel Robbins a few years ago, and she said, I was supposed to emcee the Success Live event, but I want to introduce you to Stuart Johnson, who at the time owned Success magazine. And she said, I think you should be the person to emcee. And I said, okay. And in my head I'm like, what just happened here? I'm not ready. Anybody ever been there before? So I met Stuart, and sure enough, the day comes and they said, oh, by the way, there's a speaker that you were supposed to introduce that didn't make it, so we need you to fill that slot. In addition to being the emcee, I'm sweating bullets.

I'm like, oh, my goodness, what am I going to say? And I just took a few moments, gathered myself and told a story in the moment. And that story, Success magazine was contacted by Goldcast, and they said, we'd like to take a three minute clip from that story. And they posted it online. And that three minute story has over 91 million views. Organic, no boosting. But as you can imagine, after that happens, I'm like, what? I'm about to blow up. Like, I mean, totally, like, went to my head, I'm like, okay, what's next? So I ran into Mel at an event a few years later and she said, what's going on? And I was sharing with her, and she said, you gotta come and be on my podcast. And.

And so I said, okay, it's really about to happen. And what I realized when I went and I did the podcast interview with her in LA at her studio, I was coming from a place of being selfish instead of selfless. And when our office called, Mel said, hey, when is the, you know, the interview going to be posted? And we called for six months. Her office said, we're not going to post the interview. And what I realized is because when I showed up that day to la, I was full of ego, what Ken Blanchard would call edging goodness out. It was all about me. There was no humility. I'M like, oh, I'm about to take this.
