Steve, thank you so much for being here.
Steve Sims
00:02:13 - 00:02:16
Thank you very much for that intro. I've gotta live up to that now, so thank you.
Steve Sims
00:02:16 - 00:02:37
You're very welcome. That's the reason why I do an extra high intro to make the pressure on the guests and less on me. Yeah. Yeah. It's there. I can feel it. But, Steve, I wanna thank you so much. I'm interested in how you got into the concierge service and everything you've done, but my first question is why? Why did you jump into this crazy world of entrepreneurship?
Steve Sims
00:02:39 - 00:03:13
I can answer that question and how I became a concierge with the exact same answer. Let's go for it. I spent most of my life pissed off, and that is usually what triggers people to either run-in or run away. I was an East London, boy. My family under construction firm. There was nothing for me. School would end, and I would go and work on the building site. And it was just expected that that's what my life would be.
Steve Sims
00:03:14 - 00:03:49
But I couldn't understand why it was dictated from that early age. You know, I'd see my friends, you know, in a car or working in an office or wearing a suit to work, and I'm walking into a building site at 6 o'clock in the morning then coming home at 8 o'clock in the night wet and damaged. I was pissed off. Now we didn't have YouTube to get our information from. We didn't have Instagram to point out how inadequate our lives were. We didn't have any of that stuff, but in me, I was pissed off and I was aggravated. And the beautiful thing about being aggravated, you should do something about it. Mhmm.
Steve Sims
00:03:49 - 00:04:34
You know? If you're bothered about something, that is the that is the point where you go, well, that's okay, and then you settle. Or you go, oh, I hate that. I'm gonna do something about it. Whether it be a a scratch on your car, a little hole on the wall, or how your life is. Aggravation is a great way of motivating you to do something different. And so I broke out and tried to have conversations, you know, this was pre podcast, this was in the nineties. I tried to have conversations with people that I thought had everything, you know. And the first of all, I remember the first millionaire I ever spoke to, and I thought, oh my god, this this guy could afford England, you know, he's a millionaire.
