Wow. Go, Phil. Thank you for that intro. I absolutely that that just it sounds mind blowing. How am I gonna live up to that intro here?

Well, that's up to you. I I've done my job now. I can sit back and ask these wonderful questions, and I have no doubt you will live up to this intro.

Yeah. It's awesome to have you. When your team reached out to me and be like, hey. Would you be interested in having Matt? I was like, this is what he does. Yes. I need to have him on because no one else is I've interviewed has done this. There's I've had the real estate experts. I've had people who invested in in online businesses, sales, and all this, but no one's just said, hey.

I'm just gonna take real estate assets in the digital world, websites Yep. Which Yep. And then just make money out of them. And so we're gonna start with the bread and butter of all questions here. Why did you leave Zoology, which I think is sounds like a great career, for the wild world of entrepreneurship.

Yeah. Really good question. So well, like you said, my career, I guess, as an entrepreneur has been very different to most people, and that is I buy and sell businesses. Been doing it for over thirty years. And in more recent years, like in the last fifteen years, we've been, like you said, we've been buying and selling websites. So it's a very unusual career choice, particularly that I started in zoology, as did my wife. That's where we met at university. We're both from the country.

And what drove us is possibly like a lot of your listeners, Phil, is we were looking for financial independence. We wanted. And so for me, I grew up poor, so I really wanted financial independence. If we cut to the taste, I wanna be rich. I hated being poor as a kid. And so that's what drove me. And then when I got together with Liz, she was really big on because she came from the, the country, she wanted location independence, to be able to work whenever we want, wherever we want. Basically, not wasn't the laptop lifestyle back then because that didn't exist back then, but it was just the ability to live back in the country.

That was literally what drove us both. So luckily, we got into our very first business. And then it was from there that all these amazing there was a I'd say two or three key big turning points or opportunities came up for us that we went for, and it worked. And, you know, over thirty odd years of buying and selling businesses, we've learned a lot, but those turning points were pretty amazing, which led us to where we are today.

Okay. I I I need to know what was some of the what were some of these turning points that led you to becoming, an investor in websites?
