You know, twenty years ago, I couldn't have done what I did in a small town like this one, but today, I can. Yeah. That's been a dramatic that's been a dramatic game changer. Right? I may have if I had had the tools, twenty five years ago, maybe I'd never left, but it didn't. Right?

Welcome back to Invest in Yourself, the digital entrepreneur podcast. I'm, of course, your host with the most feel better, and this is the season finale episode. And what an episode we have for you. Ladies and gentlemen, we have Dom Einhorn, the OG digital marketer who turned into an angel investor. And now he runs the largest rural startup incubator accelerator in the world, Unicorn. We talk about everything from his start to where he is now and how he ended up buying a rugby team and create changing the philosophy of it. He calls it his hundred and ten year old startup and, my god, guys, there is so much knowledge packed into this. So I'm gonna stop talking and let you guys listen to Dom Einhorn.

I'm gonna give you this time. Just give us a quick introduction about yourself and then we'll jump into your story.

So I'm Dom Einhorn. Thanks for having me on the show, Phil. Pleasure pleasure meeting you as well. I was born and raised in France. I'm half French half German. In my earlier years 1993 I moved to The US to start a digital marketing agency. Came back to France in 2018 a little over two and a half years ago to launch Unicorn Incubator Accelerator which assists seed stage and post seed stage startups succeed. In my earlier years again, early nineties, I built the actual first online art auction, which was an interesting, experiment, because at that time, I had a number of artists slash starving artists as clients.

Actually, the only artists I really knew were all starving for some reason. And, they all had one thing in common. They came to me and said, hey, Dom, because I am a starving artist, would you be willing to take, some of my work in lieu of compensation? And since I've been a very, you know, avid art collector from a very early, early, early age, I said I said, Yes. Always been fascinated by art because I can draw a hammer. So it was always fascinating to me.

Stick figures are probably the closest I get to artistic talent.

Same here, same here. So I would look at some of the, that work and was just blown away, you know, just by the sheer beauty and the scale And made a lot of friends with a lot of artists and said, look, you know, let's let's see if we can do something together. We started in the very early stages promoting it on news groups because for those of you who are old enough to be around, at that time, you know, there was no such thing as the World Wide Web prior to 9495, Netscape '1 point zero, Mark Andreessen, who now runs Andreessen Horowitz. You know, no browsers around, no navigators, whatever we would call them today. So we had to be scrappy, adjusting the fly, some promotions on bulletin boards, later on news groups. And then at one point in time when the web arrived, I think we did build the first online of, the first version of the online art auction on Netscape one point o. And I guess I was a starving web entrepreneur at that point in time. The easiest way to describe me assisting starving artists, not necessarily the ideal combination.

Starving people working together is gonna find money.
