I am, of course, your host with the most Phil Better, but I have a great guest here who was rattling off their accomplishments beforehand. And I was like, you know what? I cannot do this justice, with my feeble accomplishments. No. My my accomplishments are amazing as they are, but, everybody, this is my guest, Atlas Altman.

Thanks, Phil. Yeah. It's great to be here. And, yeah, I'm I'm so excited to see you in person. I've seen your show before, and it's just awesome to be here. So thank you so much.

It's it's a pleasure to have you, and I love the fact that you you've seen the show, and you're you're you're connected with me in that way. So I know you're gonna give us a banger of an episode that my audience is gonna love. We were talking a bit beforehand when I was trying to get a little bit of a bio from you, and you started off. And I'm like, you know, this is too good for my audience. My audience needs to hear about how you worked on a special detail for president Obama. You, you're multi award winning leader in not only in the Fortune five hundred or any of that. No. In the Fortune one, which if you don't know is the US military, the largest employer of personnel in the world.

You you ran multiple award winning teams. And, sir, can you let's just introduce yourself so I don't fail at what I'm missing.

Yeah. So I've been pretty blessed and fortunate. When I when I was born, I was born into a military family, and, my my lineage was pretty good. My mom ran off, met some met some dude, and and that was my dad, and and then he left us. So we moved back in with my my grandparents, and my great grandpa was a chief of police around the Boston area. He arrested the Boston Strangler, and my grandpa was in special operations, and everyone used to come to him for answers. And so they kinda started off the journey of what I wanted to do with my life, and that was be in the military. So my dad adopted me when I was five, and he said, you know, don't go in the army.

Go in the air force. And so I went in the air force. That was almost thirty years ago. And since then, I've been assigned to nothing but awesome teams. I've had phenomenal leaders. I've worked for four star generals, three star generals, two star generals, one star generals, and I've worked at, multiple high level organizations where fortune one results happen all the time. And, it's been amazing. So throughout that journey, I've had special operations experience.

I've had all combat zone experiences, Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa. I've been on detail with the president of The United States President. So, Obama, was was the one that I that I got to do the most work with. But recently, we've done some some presidential work here at, the air for base air force base locally, and that was cool too. Just to be engaged with secret service in in that level of of, detail is is phenomenal. But, from my perspective, I wanted to study leaders. So I came in as an admin person, and I I got quickly assigned to commander's offices, and then they taught me the ropes. And I took a whole bunch of notes, put them in a book, and it made its way up to, it made its way to Harvard Business Review, from from one of my car, contacts, and and I pulled it back as Dave Goggins is like, don't let anybody publish your work.
