Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to Invest in Yourself, the digital entrepreneur podcast. I am, of course, your host with the most feel better. And today, I am happy to have the SEO optimizer himself, Brandon Lebioitz, on the show. Brandon, thank you so much for being a guest on the show.

Thanks for having me on today.

So, Brandon, you are, owner and operator of SEO optimizers, but we wanna get back to the very beginning. Why don't you give us a quick intro about yourself?

Yeah. My name is, Brandon Lee Woods. I first got started digital marketing in 02/2007, got my degree in business marketing. And first job I got out of school was up and out of company with their SEO and helping out with social media, doing email marketing, running paid ads, kinda doing all this digital marketing aspects, and just realized back then in 02/2007 that I felt like everyone's probably gonna have a website in the future. And SEO is a way to get free traffic. So I was like, how about I just focus on the SEO side of things? Everything I mentioned works, like running Google Ads or doing social media, email marketing, all that works so you have traffic. But I just focus really on that SEO side of things over the years. And ever since then, worked at different advertising agencies, worked at for mom and pop shops, Fortune 500 companies, and everything in between.

And right now, I have my own company that really focuses on that SEO aspect of

things. So were you always someone who loved to jump into the entrepreneurial space, or was something later on in life that you figured out? Like, were you doing entrepreneurial things like lemonade stands when you were younger?

Yeah. No. Always had the entrepreneurial spirit. So in high school made a skateboard company because I love skateboarding. So made a clothing company for skateboarding and kind of did that for a few years until I went to school or to college. Then I focused more on school instead of the company, which I wish I kinda kept both going because it was kinda popular around my neighborhood and around the area. So it was growing and growing, but just when I went to school, just focused on school instead of trying to juggle both. And but,

yeah, I always enjoyed that. And when

I got out of school, when I got that first job doing digital marketing, I realized that I could just pick up freelance clients here and there. And that was one thing that really drew me into the SEO side of things is that I could just go to, like, a restaurant or any local business or wherever it might be. And be like, Hey, do you want to rank at the top of Google? I'll get you up there for whatever keywords. I'll get you to the dentist, I'll get you up there for dentist near me or whatever it may be. And always would pick up clients here and there while working full time. And eventually was able to build up enough clients. I was able to just quit my job, but always enjoyed that part. Wanted to have an entrepreneurial spirit where it's like, rather be my own boss rather than working for somebody.

So always had that drive and wanted to do that. So wasn't sure how that path was gonna work out, whether it's gonna be, like, skateboarding, but just fell into the digital marketing and kept going from there.

So I wanna know what is your why? Like, what is driving you to be focusing on the SEO and focusing on being your own boss?

I just enjoy the flexibility and the freedom that you get of being in your own boss even though definitely do work a lot more and becomes a lot more work, even though it's all yours. You just see the time and just like, alright. If I could just be sitting around watching Netflix or maybe I'll do a little bit of work. So definitely do a lot more work, but the freedom that comes with this, you could set your own hours and pick and choose when you work. And with my job, I could just kind of pick up and go anywhere. As long as I have internet connection, I'm pretty much good to go. That's what I realized over the years. It's that nomadic life works as long as you have internet.

So as long as I could get a connection to the internet somewhere, I could be working anywhere for the most part. Nowadays, with, like, cell phones and everything, it's made it a lot easier to just be connected and just stay stay connected with everything. So

that's

one thing that really drew me are some of the things that really keep me interested in it.

Have you done some of the nomadic experience, like nomadic lifestyle?
