Kyle Kuderewski 00:02:06 - 00:02:09
Hey, Phil. Thanks for having me. Excited to get going.
Speaker B 00:02:09 - 00:02:25
Alright. So I I wanna start off with, the first question because that's that's how we like to do it. Just get right into it here. Why did you wanna become an entrepreneur? What was it that, like, sparked the, let's go out and risk everything because I think I can do it?
Kyle Kuderewski 00:02:26 - 00:02:55
Yeah. Sure. So, it started early on in in an undergrad in engineering school. So I was in mechanical engineering, Enjoyed it. Was was, was, you know, I would say technically capable, but, you know, looking around, I had skill sets that, a lot of my peers did not. And they had skills that I didn't have. Right? Like, I wasn't the most technically sound in the in the class, but I had people skills and I had a entrepreneurial itch that most engineers didn't. So that's where I started, to to think about it.
Kyle Kuderewski 00:02:56 - 00:03:24
I also grew up in the restaurant industry. My dad owned restaurants my whole life. He didn't let me go into that particular industry. I'd say probably for for good reason, but I always kinda had that itch. And, yeah. So I got into a corporate engineering role for about a decade, which gave me a really good start to life, but I always felt like a cog in the wheel. And so really just wanted to branch out and kinda bet on myself. And and, you know, I moved up rather quickly in in the engineering role, which, again, I'm thankful for.
Kyle Kuderewski 00:03:25 - 00:03:27
But I started realizing, like,
Speaker B 00:03:27 - 00:03:27
I'm
Kyle Kuderewski 00:03:27 - 00:03:45
getting a little bit of a puppet here. I'm not able to make my own decisions, and what what good is me being a manager or a leader? You know? I wanna bet on myself. If I fail, I fail, and I probably will at at many points along the way. But it's beginning to be because of decisions I make, not what somebody else is forcing me to do. So, threw a lot at you there, but that's that's kind of it in a nutshell.
Speaker B 00:03:45 - 00:04:15
No. I I like it because it it's something that's, flows along in a lot of the themes we hear from entrepreneurs on the podcast that they wanna have that control of whether they succeed or fail. Hopefully, they succeed. Obviously, everybody wants that success. Right? But a lot of them learn more in failure than success. My, second question is, like, is WebStreet isn't your first venture in the, in the entrepreneurial's event, space, or is it?
Kyle Kuderewski 00:04:16 - 00:04:27
No. No. It's not. So I like I said, I worked for about a decade in in, corporate role and saved up money. I knew I wanted to get a side hustle going and maybe that would eventually become a
Speaker B 00:04:29 - 00:04:29
full time hustle. My,
