I think that's, like, the is that how you say it? Of a podcast? The opposite of what you want in
Speaker B 00:00:07 - 00:00:12
a podcast. Just complete silence. Alright. It's not working the way I want it to work, but that's fine.
Lisa Brantner 00:00:12 - 00:00:13
Do you wanna shut down
Speaker B 00:00:13 - 00:00:23
and reboot? No. I'm not. No. No. Because I don't wanna be too behind on this, but it's fine. It's recording. It's not recording the way I like it to record Okay. With multiple lines, but it's recording and that's all that matters.
Speaker B 00:00:23 - 00:00:24
If you speak
Lisa Brantner 00:00:24 - 00:00:27

Alright. Welcome back to another amazing episode of Invest in Yourself, the digital entrepreneur podcast. We're here at the BrandUp Summit in Montreal, and I have the exclusive privilege of interviewing Lisa Barnett?
Lisa Brantner 00:00:41 - 00:00:42
Bratner.
Speaker B 00:00:42 - 00:00:57
Bratner. Lisa Bratner. I'm gonna have to redo that. I have the absolute pleasure to interview Lisa Bratner. Lisa, I want to ask you, before we do anything, if you can give me a quick 30 seconds introduction so my audience can get to know you?
Lisa Brantner 00:00:57 - 00:01:33
Sure. Well, right now, I'm a residential real estate broker. But before that, I started my career. My, first job was always in coaching. I was a cheerleading coach, as well as a gymnastic coach and whatnot. And then I finished university and I went into the corporate world. Stayed in the corporate world for about 16 years. I did pricing, product pricing, placement, inventory management, and whatnot.
Lisa Brantner 00:01:34 - 00:02:00
I also had my son at the beginning of this career. And then during COVID, like a lot of people, I had a bit of an epiphany and I didn't really want to work for anyone else anymore. And my goal at the beginning of my career was to become a real estate broker, but, you know, momhood and life took over. So I decided to do my license, and pursue that during COVID. And, here we are today.
Speaker B 00:02:00 - 00:02:28
I love it. So COVID, like it did for me, it changed the direction of your your life. I I I wanna know. Okay? So COVID was the the anticipates, if you will, the thing that started it. But what inspired you to create your brand and just grow what you are doing now? Like, what what really was that inspiration that wanted you to be a real estate broker?
Lisa Brantner 00:02:28 - 00:02:59
Well, I mean, there's a lot of real estate brokers out there. But the way I wanted to distinguish myself and be different was I wanna focus on women and helping women figure out how they can kind of navigate how to save so that they can buy property on their own. As a single mom, you know, went through a divorce. I sold my home and then it took me several years to save back up to buy a property by myself, which I did about 5 years ago.
Speaker B 00:02:59 - 00:03:00
Let's go.
Lisa Brantner 00:03:00 - 00:03:35
Yeah. Yeah. And I figured if I can do this as a single mom working full time, doing part time jobs on the side, I can, you know, help other people to do that too. And so that's kind of not the only reason I want to become a real estate broker, but that was gonna be my my my messaging and part of my brand that, you know, if I could do this, you can do it too. And, that is kind of where the the brands or the differentiator factor for me came up for for real estate. I wanted to help people and women specifically.
Speaker B 00:03:36 - 00:03:53
I love that. And, I I love how you were going after, in essence, Lee, who you were when you first started. You were looking for someone, probably when you first started, you were like, I want help by my property. I need all this. And you just became that person for for you in essence.
Lisa Brantner 00:03:54 - 00:03:57
Right. And I made some mistakes trying to save up
Speaker B 00:03:57 - 00:03:58
from my property.
Lisa Brantner 00:03:59 - 00:04:33
You know, I listen to advice from maybe, let's say, the banks who don't always have your best interest at heart or don't, you know, the person that's working there doesn't maybe necessarily have the knowledge of what's best for you based on your situation, your work life, and might not give you all the tools that you need. And I kind of trial and error and asking around and asking a lot of people figured out, like, what to do to accelerate, the buying process for me. And for everybody, it's different based on their personal situation.
Speaker B 00:04:34 - 00:04:51
Speaking of that, because figuring out the strategy, if you will, for purchasing something or purchasing a strategy, if you will, for purchasing something or purchasing a house, which is a major investment for a lot of people, what strategies have been useful for you and most effective in helping you build your brand? Well, for my brand,
