I think I will probably start to get started, even though everyone start to get started. That's awesome, everyone. Thank you for taking the trek all the way to the end of humanity. You walked an 18 hole golf course to get here. Yeah, that's exactly right. My name is Ellie Puckett. I am the CEO at Resonate Recordings. We help organizations and thought leaders share their stories and missions and expertise through the power of podcasting.

We have helped thousands of shows and we have edited over 50,000 episodes. Any given month, we're editing between 200 and 400 episodes. So it is very likely that we have edited a show that you listen to. But some of our more famous clients would be like true crime. We made culpable and undetermined and some of their other true crime shows. And then right now, our most up and coming sexy show. For those of you, does anybody watch Castle? Are any of you mega nerds and like the TV show or the TV show and the movie Firefly and then Serenity.

We are the editors behind Once We Were Spacemen by Nathan Philey and Alan Tudyk and it'll be coming out this fall. So we have helped thousands of people, whether that be a speakers podcast, a business podcast we edit for UBS and Salesforce or something on the entertainment side, we're podcast specific, not industry specific. But before I dive into the weeds and tactics and how we can help or not resonate can help you, but how even you can help you, because today's talk, I really do want it to be a DIY friendly situation and give you so much value that you might hopefully want to work with us or work with someone. I want to tell you a little bit about my story. So It's April of 2022 and I am pregnant with our second son. We have just had our 20 week ultrasound where we found out that our son has a brain malformation called Dandy Walker. This brain malformation basically is pretty under researched because it's rare. And so at this moment in time, they can't tell us anything about the outcome other than that he will come, but he could be completely fine or he could never walk and talk.

And at the same time, I'm working at a technology startup. I'd spent 10 years of my career at that point in the technology startup space, helping people start their businesses, grow, raise angel and venture in what's called entrepreneurial support, or as an early founder, early employee. At this point in time, I'm an early employee at a technology startup that a friend had asked me to join. And this startup is struggling. And because I would call myself a startup expert at this point helping help hundreds of people start businesses, I can see it coming a mile away way before they might have even realized it. And I can tell that I'm a mismatch. They scale too quickly, they've panic, pivoted, they don't have the money and Runway they need. And I will be one of the first people on that chopping block.

So one day In April of 2022, my manager and I are sitting down, having a coffee and she just blurts it out, ellie, we love you. We don't know what to do with you. We've taken this different path and you're pregnant, so we don't know what to do. This was a very dark moment and period for me in my life. It was hard because I did not know the outcome of my son or my career. And who wants to look for a job while they're pregnant? And so I wasn't just a little pregnant, I was very pregnant. And I'm sitting down with the chairman after this like blurred out conversation and he's like, ellie, I've got you. We'll find you another startup.
